Hedgehog is a social media platform focused on news aggregation and community dialogue. This Privacy Notice applies to information we collect:
when you access or uses the Offerings;
in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and us; or
when you interact with the Offerings on third-party websites.
It does not apply to information collected by:
a third-party;

We may collect several types of information from and about users of our Site, including:
information by which you may be personally identified such as name, email, phone number, or any other information which could be associated with or used to identify you (“personal information”);
content you submit to the Offerings, including posts and comments, saved drafts, your messages with other users (e.g., private messages, chats), and your reports and other communications with moderators and with us. Your content may include text, links, images, gifs, audio, and videos;
information that is about you but individually does not specifically identify you;
interactions with content, like voting, saving, hiding, and reporting;
interactions with other users, such as following, friending, and blocking;
interactions with communities, like your subscriptions or moderator status;
technical information about your internet connection, the equipment you use to access the Offerings, including usage details and IP addresses;
details of your visits to and usage of the Offerings including traffic data, logs, general geolocation of where you are when you access the Offerings and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Offerings; or
login information such as username, password, and security questions.
To complete a transaction, you may be required to provide information such as the type of card, card number, expiration date, security code, and billing address. When you provide such information, it is processed directly by a third-party payment processor. We do not have direct access to, process, transmit, handle, or store any of your credit or debit card details.
While we do not request or intentionally collect any other information other than the information described above, at times you may provide information about yourself on the platform or in your interactions with us or other users such as information about your sex, race, ethnicity, health records, or other personal or sensitive information.
We collect this information:
directly from you when you provide it to us;
automatically as you access or navigate through the Offerings through automated data technologies such as through cookies and other tracking technologies; or
from your social media account if you register with us through the social media account.
Information You Directly Provide to Us.
The information we collect on or through our Site may include:
information that you provide by filling in forms on our Site, including information provided at the time of subscribing to our email communication service or requesting further services;
records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses) if you contact us, including when you report a problem with the Offerings; or

COOKIES (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our Site. Third Party Use of Automated Data Tracking Technologies.
Some content or applications on the Offerings are served by third parties. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website. The information they collect may be associated with information that may be able to identify you or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. to a buyer or other successor in anticipation of or in connection with a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Hedgehog’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of a bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Hedgehog is among the assets transferred;

We may also disclose your information:

to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes; or
if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hedgehog, our users, or others.
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any information you provide to us will be encrypted in transit and at rest.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of the Offerings, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Offerings like message boards. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Offerings.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the Offerings. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Offerings.
User Submitted Content.
You may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Offerings or transmitted to other users of the Offerings or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are posted on the Site and Mobile App and transmitted to others at your own risk. You may and we recommend you set up certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile and enabling multi-factor authentication under your “settings” tab. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Offerings with whom you may
choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
We will keep your personal information for as long as it necessary to provide the Offerings to you.
Thereafter, we will keep your personal information for as long as is necessary:
to respond to any questions, complaints, or claims made by you or on your behalf;
to show that we treated you fairly; or
to keep records required by law.
In addition, you may delete your data at any time through the privacy center or through the settings page of your profile.
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. Below are options for your personal information.
Tracking Technologies.
You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Offerings may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website/or other opt out mechanism.
In addition, your mobile device settings may provide functionality to limit our, or our partners’, ability to engage in ad tracking or targeted advertising using the Google Advertising ID or Apple ID for Advertising associated with your mobile device.
If you choose to opt-out of targeted advertisements, you will still see advertisements online but they may not be relevant to you. Even if you do choose to opt out, not all companies that serve online behavioral advertising are included in this list, so you may still receive some cookies and tailored advertisements from companies that are not listed.
Our Marketing to You.
If you do not wish to receive our marketing emails, you may unsubscribe by following the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email or by contacting us through the contact information in the How to Contact Us section at the bottom of this Privacy Notice. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.
Accessing and Correcting Your Information.
You can review and change your personal information by logging on to your account and updating the information or by going to our privacy center at privacy.hedgehog.com. Please note, if you are able to access and update your information, we may provide instructions on how you can update such information.
Do Not Track Signals.
Some web browsers (including Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome) incorporate a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) or similar feature that signals to websites that a user does not want to have his or her online activity and behavior tracked. If a website that responds to a particular DNT signal receives the DNT signal, the browser can block that website from collecting certain information about the browser’s user. Hedgehog does not recognize or respond to DNT signals.
We are not responsible for the practices employed by third party websites, applications, or services linked to or from our Site. We recommend the user review the privacy notices of other third party websites, applications, and/or services applications before authorizing a third-party access to your data.
The Offerings are not directed at or intended for children under 18 years of age. No one under age 18 may provide any information to or on the Offerings. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on the Offerings or on or through any of its features/register or in connection with the Offerings. If you contact us and we learn we have collected or received information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 18, please contact us through the information at the How to Contact Us section at the bottom of this Privacy Notice.
If you do not agree to this Privacy Notice or any of our other policies posted here, do not use the Offerings.
In our sole discretion, we may revise this Privacy Notice from time-to-time. The Last Updated date is set forth at the top of this page. All changes are effective 15 days after the Last Updated date for current users and immediately for new users. Your continued use of the Offerings following the posting of this Privacy Notice means you accept and agree to the Privacy Notice.
